Spring: wake the soil
After snow and rain the soil compacts and the border blurs. The first task is aerating the soil, topping up sunken spots and removing weeds at the root. Planting before these three steps rarely takes.
Late March to early May is when seasonal seedlings establish best. If you do not know how much sun the grave gets, ask the provider to note it in the first report.
Summer: water and shade
In July and August weekly watering becomes necessary in most regions. Without a tap at the cemetery, choose drought-tolerant species; otherwise every visit turns into new seedlings.
Autumn and winter
Once leaves fall, a clean every two weeks is enough. On the last visit before winter, empty the vases: freezing water cracks ceramic and marble.
